This one was quite a treat. We had the pleasure of bringing this stunner of a pool to life for a new coastal holiday home in the Mornington Peninsula. Latitude 37 did the architecture, and the owners came back to us after we'd worked together before. We do love a happy client, and it's always that bit easier when you've built up trust from a previous project.

They had a vision for their little aquatic retreat, and because of that trust, they felt comfortable telling us exactly what they were after. When that happens, it really helps with getting the details just right - so everyone's happy with the result.

This one's got elegance, for sure, but it doesn't try too hard. It's simple - and the clean lines and shape are right at home on this Mornington Peninsula property. And it's the main feature in the backyard. The spot where everyone wants to hang out. We did the pool with small, blue tiles across its entire surface, including the steps and ledge in the shallow end, so it's got this bright pop of colour against the slick grey of the deck.

Because this family loves hosting and being together, we wanted this space to work for everyone. The pool is part of a larger outdoor entertaining area, great for ending up there after a day at the beach or just for a Saturday afternoon barbecue. Using frameless glass to section off the pool means we’ve still got that sense of open space. It's all connected but still keeps everyone safe without it feeling closed off from the outdoor lounge and alfresco dining area. The whole space is cohesive, so they've got this private sanctuary that's a proper escape from the suburbs. There's even an outdoor shower by the pool - subtle but really ties it all together and is a great way to freshen up after a swim or surf.
