This backyard pool was a bit of a show-off. But in the best way possible. We knew right from the start it needed to hold its own against a resort. So that was the benchmark. The brief was about giving the family a private, everyday getaway. There’s something about a family pool being more than just a pool. It becomes a part of the family. We’ve seen it time and time again.

The pool in this project was built above ground, making it the centrepiece of the backyard. Architecturally designed by Kavellaris Urban Design, we focused on lighting up the pool and spa, making use of the space in a beautiful way. The spa here was designed as an infinity spa, elevating the experience. The blue mosaic tiles and blue pool interior made everything shiny and bright. And with so many glass elements incorporated into the design, the sun makes it all so sparkly.

The design brief also mentioned sustainability, so we focused on solar heating and timers to run the filtration and in-floor cleaning, during on- and off-peak hours, were installed. This ensures power, bills stay low and the longevity of the pool is upheld. Now, the family gets to enjoy worry-free pool parties and the relaxing comfort of an at-home resort.
