Suburban Oasis With A Luxurious Pool
Suburban Luxury
This project really took the idea of ‘suburban luxury’ and ran with it. From the get-go, we were aiming to create an outdoor space that felt a bit like a hidden gem - something elegant but still warm and inviting, definitely not showy or cold. So, we centred things around this elongated pool with a raised spa - both are pretty striking to look at but also feel like they’ve always belonged there.
What we love most is how cohesive it all feels. The way the area sort of just flows around the pool is quite special. There’s no sense it’s been tacked on as an afterthought - every corner, every angle, feels like it’s been consciously balanced between looking beautiful and making sense for busy family life.
This backyard is an entertainer’s dream. The way the pool seamlessly links the alfresco and dining areas makes the whole space feel like one long invitation. You can swim or relax or just wander from one space to another, all without feeling like you’ve shut out half your guests. And, yes, the deep, rich blue of the water practically calls out for someone to cannonball straight in. Or, if you’re less about making a splash and more about unwinding, the raised spa off to one side offers exactly that type of release. We picture quite a few weekends here with kids jumping in the pool and parents chatting in the spa, friends propped up on sun loungers nearby enjoying a drink.
The grey-white pool paving works hard to complement the lush green lawn without being too harsh - that balance between hard and soft is always tricky, but it came together beautifully. The lawn itself isn’t just ornamental - there’s plenty of space to kick a footy or roll around with the dog before flopping onto the paving to catch your breath.
Honestly, every time we look at this space, it feels less like a project and more like a place you just want to spend time. That’s kind of the ultimate goal.
