A Suburban Poolside Escape

Alright, where do we even begin with this one? Sometimes, a job comes along that just gets us buzzing with ideas. This was one of those. We had a small, suburban backyard to play with and a brief that was basically ‘make it feel big, light, and genuinely enjoyable’ - and right, don’t go overboard on the maintenance. And nothing over the easement, please. So, that’s a tall order to fill, but we were game for it.

Concrete pools are our thing, but even by our standards, this was a bit of a tricky one. Easement restrictions are no joke. Plus, with that limited access, we couldn’t bring in any of our usual machinery. So - we had to think quite creatively for this build. We went with smaller machinery and a lot more elbow grease to bring this pool to life. But the end result is absolutely one for the books.

We’re proud of how it’s all come together - the in-floor cleaning, glass fencing, complete with slimline tiles in a very on-trend shade. We even managed to fit in programmable timers so it would be super energy efficient for our clients.

Being open with communication really paid off this time. The family was happy to trust us with our vision and then, they ended up loving how the pool turned out. It’s a beautiful space and while it is contemporary and rather chic, at the end of the day, it’s for the whole family to enjoy.

If you had told us at the start of the project that it would be nearly zero maintenance with easy cleaning and such a beautiful result, we’d have thought you’d gone soft in the head. But it’s all in the details and the teamwork. That and working with people who are willing to listen to our ideas and be transparent about their expectations. It makes a world of difference - there’s just no other way around it.
