Concrete Pool Project: A Sophisticated Entertaining Area

There’s something about this pool that just oozes sophistication. The sleek lines and neat finish really do make it shine. The pool works so well with the existing home too - it’s almost like it’s always been there. It brings this outdoor entertaining area together, and is the main focal point. Which is just what we set out to do.

The vision for this space was a modernised backyard, suitable for entertaining guests and family. With a low maintenance pool for their grandchildren to enjoy, the homeowners wanted the whole area to feel welcoming and fun - but still sophisticated. And, tying the space in with their existing home was a big priority for them too.

We loved this, and wanted to make sure our solution balanced both sophistication and fun in the space. We incorporated an umbrella holder into the top step of the pool. This way, the grandchildren could still have fun in the sun, but with some much needed shade over them. We added in a fully functional entertaining area, with a beautiful garden at the backdrop, separated by a retaining wall. The pool itself is fitted with an in-floor cleaning system and self-cleaning VX7 salt chlorinator, which means less cleaning and more fun. We also built in a water feature at the north end of the pool - stainless steel spillway included.

Blue tiles were selected for the 8.5 x 3.75 metre pool, with a modern open pergola and classy paving to connect the home to the new entertainment area.

We made sure to check in with the original landscape designer, so that their vision for the pool and landscaping was spot on with our clients vision.
